Definitely a much needed tune at this juncture as we were all wondering (and a little bit scared) if any of us would ever play again after this pandemic.  It devastated most of the venues we played at and they are gone. As a singer/musician who's been "at it" since I'm 15 I'm sure this tune will give hope for a brighter future and the clouds do have a silver lining. ~ Dakota MaCleod

CURRENTLY she acts as Vocalist and Contractor for the band BROOKLYN SOUL TRAIN with which she and her partner and Musical Director RAY NACCARI perform in venues in the metropolitan area such as  B. Smiths, Blue Note, Birdland, Lenox Lounge (Harlem), Copelands.(Harlem) Chez Lucienne (Harlem), Dinosaur BBQ(Harlem) BB KINGS, IRIDUM, DIZZY’S CLUB COCA COLA, with jazz legend BENNY GOLSON,in concert with jazz legend JIMMY HEATH,TRUMPETS in Montclair  and Dukes Southern Table and NJPAC (both in Newark N.J.) just to name a few. 

EXPERIENCE – Dakota worked for 6 years as a singer/dancer in Las Vegas type shows for hotel chains.  She served 12 years as lead vocalist, assistant conductor and copyist for the MISS NEW YORK STATE PAGEANT ORCHESTRA( a preliminary for MISS AMERICA.)  She was in the cast of several shows intended for Broadway.  

THEATRE-   Sang with the BBC Orchestra for the 2007 production of CHAPMAN ROBERTS “THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO BROADWAY” performed in the “HACKNEY EMPIRE THEATRE” in LONDON; was solo vocalist for HENRY STREET THEATRE production of CHAP AM SO (AMISTAD VICTORY); and sang in the CHAPMAN ROBERTS production of BROADWAY SOUL at NEW WORLD STAGE THEATER.  several featured solo roles as well as ensemble in the JABEN USA /SUPERNOVA PRODUCTIONS  LES MISERABLES 2013 and JABEN USA/SUPERNOVA PRODUCTIONS  FIDDLER ON THE ROOF as FRUMAH SARAH 2014. Was Percussionist and vocals for the FIT production of GUYS AND DOLLS and CABARET. 

LIVE PERFORMANCES -   She has performed with: IQUAZU (Latin Jazz) at BIRDLAND; DENROY MORGAN and RYO KAWASAKI; FREDDIE JACKSON, BUDDY MILES, STANLEY JORDAN; with SHIRLEY STEWART FARMER  and  BENNY GOLSON at DIZZY’S CLUB COCA COLA and co-starred in TWO SOPRANOS SING OPERA TO BLUES with SHIRLEY STEWART FARMER at CARNEGIE HALL.  WAS VOCALIST IN THE MEMORIAL CONCERT MASS FOR JEAN CLAUDE BAKER(SON OF JOSEPHINE BAKER) ,OWNER OF “CHEZ JOSEPHINE”(2015) Headlined at THE INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY FESTIVAL at St. Peters Jazz Church in NYC .Headlined at THE HAVANA INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL in HAVANA, CUBA  3 years running. 

RECORDINGS- She starred in a tribute album to the victims of the World Trade Disaster and co-starred in the TWO SOPRANOS SING OPERA TO BLUES album with SHIRLEY STEWART FARMER.  She has served as Studio vocalist for BOB MARLEY “SOUL ALMIGHTY” THE FORMATIVE YEARS, Vol #; LOS AMIGOS DEL AMORE; and many other recordings;Award- Richard Noel Amend Award by the Josephine Foundation 2013
